I went to a wedding this past year and the Brother that did the wedding was a pioneer, but not a M.S, or elder.....I wonder if it is a legal recognized marriage ?

WT Secret Document admits that only Elders and MS's are Ordained
by Elsewhere inthe watchtower society likes to tell its members that all jws are ordained ministers, but in reality only elders and ministerial servants can obtain a certificate of ordained minister from the watchtower society.
even then one must specifically state the reason the certificate is needed.
bottom line, the watchtower society makes it very difficult for any jw to receive such a certificate.. branch organization manual.

The type of shunning kitty... is experiencing is the common experience df ones share, the poster that is allowing his df'd sister to live with him is an exception to the rule. The one that posted that needs to open his eyes to the facts of the families destroyed by watchtower doctrine. The only time I could remotely agree with a shunning policy is in a true situation were someone in the congregation that insisted on associating within the midst of everyone else, but posed a honest threat to others well being because of dangerous behavior such as abuse. But uneducated , imperfect men should NEVER have authority over family relationships. My 18 year old brother in law was disfellowshipped his senior year of high school for smoking .The past 10 years he has been shunned by his JW family to the point were for several years no one even knew where he lived or if he was alive. His parents have never seen his wife or new baby daughter . My mother in law tortures her self over this constantly but, will never go against JW policy. Brainwashed to believe integrity to God will some how be broken if they have a normal loving relationship with their own son. THIS IS A SICK, TWISTED belief !!!! Twisted by MEN . I will never accept this is anything God intended .

What effect did armaggeddon/possible persecution have on your mental state?
by jambon1 ini was`nt brought up in the `truth`.
i have recently left and am amazingly happy.. one thing that got to me was my mental state of mind which became extreemly negative about the future.. i worried very much about non jw relatives (good people) dying at armaggeddon.
also reading the endless accounts of bros/sis being brutally tortured/raped etc really disturbed me.

The fear factor was losing ground in our hall at one time .A talk was given were the brother stated," some have mentioed they are not afraid of dying at armageddon since death is nothingness why fear it ,' then he proceeded to say " you should be afraid because the scripture say's there the gnashing of teeth for those who realize they have made a huge mistake not following JW." So let's just scare them into obediance. And then they say our worship is based on love, love , love. ( Love of freakin everyone into submission)

My witness nephew would never attend family reunions when un -believing relatives might be present. He told my son he didn't want to get close with them since they were destined to die..He was like 12/13 at the time. Why has it taken so long for me to see how clearly sick this kind of thinking really was ?

Wow , I can not believe the emotions this thread has stirred up inside of me ! Years ago I went through a serious episode of depression that lasted a couple of years. During that time I sought out professional help and I thought then I had really dealt with my inner demons . Mostly I thought my emotional problems stemmed from being raised with an alcoholic father, but I can see now how much damage was caused by sick religious beliefs. Do you think things are any better for young ones growing up in J-dumb now ? Have 2nd and third generation witnesses seen the damage done to them and spared their own children any of that grief ?

C-sections and blood
by kristyann ini suppose being a student in the field that i am in, i should be more familiar with this topic... but i am not.
i have asked several people and have gotten different answers, all people in the medical field.
so i am going to ask this, even if it sounds dumb... do you require blood when getting a c-section?
-

The old rule was only three c-sections because the uterine wall is weakened and chance of rupture is hightened .I think with the new type of incision they no longer believe that way. I know of women that have had their first child c-section and then go on to have natural births later , not something my Doctor would let me attempt because of higher risk being a witness.

Not all c-sections require a blood transfusion. The chance to hemorrhage is greater with pregnancy patients no matter what type of delivery. As far as the witnesses they don't give an opinion on c-section that is usually not an option but an emergency type operation. The witnesses do warn pregnant mothers to be prepared to face the blood issue.(to refuse transfusion) If you need more information about that look under other topics in the medical section.

Knowing what I know now, I would have donated some of my own blood ahead of time just in case . One nurse that was present during my last one said it was very scary seeing so much blood loss on a witness patient ,but the doctor said it looked worse than it really was because of the Amneiotic (sp?) fluid and blood mixed together .

I have had three c-sections all were the old- fashioned vertical type , and I did not require blood transfusion. Are you scheduled for one ? Do you have any other questions ?
